Adoption of the principles of Harmony with Nature.
In 2009, under the leadership of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, intergovernmental negotiations were initiated on the principles of Harmony with Nature. The following chronology highlights the activities that have taken place in this regard, starting with the declaration of International Mother Earth Day on 22 April 2009 by the General Assembly. December 19 The UN General Assembly, at its 79th session, adopted the fourteenth resolution on Harmony with Nature (A/RES/79/210) . This resolution requests, the President of the General Assembly, among others: 1. To convene at the seventyninth session of the Assembly, a one-day high-level meeting on Harmony with Nature and Living Well to be held on 22 April 2025 at the plenary meetings during the commemoration of International Mother Earth Day, with participation of the United Nations system and multi-stakeholder participation from independent experts, civil society, aca...
